No association can run without volunteers and we are forever grateful to all those who help make our seasons successful. 

No experience is necessary. We only ask for a vulnerable sector check to be completed. 

We have an elected board of volunteers who are elected at the AGM around September time frame all any member is welcome to be nominated for the position. Our coaches are our largest group of volunteers. These include head and assistant coaches.

We are recruiting for convenors to help run each age group as well as scheduler and tournament director.

T-Ball Convener:

-          Email each coach their team list and contact information (you will receive this from the registrar)

-          Have an open communication with coaches

-          Answer coaches when they have questions

-          Be in contact with executive if there are any field cancellations or concerns

Rookie Convener:

-          Help/ organize evaluations

-          Make teams to match skill levels

-          Email each coach their team list and contact information.

-          Have an open communication with coaches

-          Answer coaches when they have questions

-          Be in contact with executive if there is any field cancellations or concerns

Both T-ball/Rookie convenors to work together to:

-          Sort jerseys into teams to have ready for equipment pick up

-          Attend equipment pick up day

-          Plan the kick off party to start the season

-          Set up photo day for kickoff event

-          Plan the end of year wrap up

Convenors for Baseball and Softball:

-          Help/organize evaluations

-          Tally scores for evaluations and help make even teams

-          Assist with reviewing schedules for the season

-          Present for equipment pick up and drop off

-          Enter scores through out the season

-          Plan year and execute year end and possible mid season tournament including making schedules, arranging prizing for player of the game, entering scores, being the point person for any issues, helping with some field maintenance, presenting of trophies, ensuring baseballs are at the fields, encouraged to run a canteen and/or 50/50 ticket sales if volunteers available

-          Have an open communication with coaches

-          Answer coaches when they have questions

-          Be in contact with executive if there are any field cancellations or concerns

What the executive will complete:

-          Ordering of all equipment and organizing into bags

-          Ordering of uniforms

-          Ordering of year end medals

-          Scheduling of umpires

-          Booking of fields and gyms

 

Scheduler:

-          Work with convenors and executive to set season schedule for all levels of house league

-           Work with tournament director to set tournament schedules

-           Ensure that schedules are set with enough time for umpires to be assigned to games by UIC

-          Maintain schedules as needed and help with assisting tournament director to set postponed games and setting up make up             games for tournaments within timelines for tournaments

-          Reschedule make up games for house league games due to cancellation of games

-          Be available for executive and coaches to contact you to inform of cancellations

Tournament Director:

-          Set rules that are appropriate for each level of play for tournaments and enforce rules as needed

-          Review documentation for all teams as necessary

-          Work with scheduler to set schedule for tournaments and ensure schedule is set on Sportzhead app

-          Coordinate with UIC to ensure umpires are at each game

-          Source player of the game awards

-          Keep scores and standings for tournaments and ensure that tournament standings are available for all to view (if enough              volunteers are available, have a score keeper at each game)

-          Source and utilize volunteers to assist as needed (volunteers will be pulled from parents of teams involved)

-          Manage protests and conflicts

-          Ensure that game balls are picked up from equipment manager/executive (at least 2 balls per game)

-          Ensure that game medals are picked up from executive and handed out at finals games

-          Ensure that rules/schedule/maps are issued to each team head coach

-          Maintain to the best of your ability that schedule stays on time

-          Be well versed in the rules and regulations of Little League Canada

-          If a game is postponed or suspended, review the reasons why and reschedule as soon as possible. Reasons for rescheduling          include but not limited to:

o   Weather

o    Time (daylight)

o   Injuries or teams not being able to field a team due to injuries

o   Teams not receiving rules and schedules before tournament

-           Work with UOVLL executive as needed

Equipment Manager:

Keep an up-to-date Master Inventory List of all equipment and uniforms

-          Review current equipment and repair or dispose of equipment as necessary

-          Present equipment and uniform plan and budget to the Board of Directors for approval

-          Procure equipment and uniforms as per budget

-          Coordinate the assembly and distribution of team equipment bags and uniforms prior to each season

-          Be available to coaches for any equipment concerns

-          Schedule and coordinate the return of all team equipment bags and uniforms after each season

-          Assist in providing the equipment for the Diamond Boxes. Providing locks for the Diamond Boxes

-          Provide education for the membership to help them buy individual equipment

Director of player and coach development:

-          Responsible for development programs for coaches and players

-          Provide technical support, guidance and mentorship to coaches to help develop players at all levels

-          Will coordinate coaching clinics prior and during the season

-          Will provide specialized clinics for player skill development

-          Will help with player evaluations and tryouts
